Donate Computer Equipment

Although most computer equipment donated to us is welcome, donated equipment in good working order minimizes the time needed for refurbishment and gets to the schools and libraries faster. Thus "classroom ready" donated equipment is preferred. A "classroom ready" computer is a working PC of Pentium 4 or better, complete with a SVGA monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

All computers donated to Computers for Schools are electronically wiped of all information and the exterior surfaces of the equipment are cleaned of any dust and dirt.

Types of Acceptable Equipment

  • Pentium 4 and above
  • Laptops
  • Macintosh CPUs
  • 17-inch SVGA Monitors
  • LCD Monitors
  • Keyboards
  • Mice
  • Printers
  • Modems
Computers for Schools also welcomes donations of spare parts, depending on the resources available to make best use of this equipment. It is best to call ahead if you are unsure about your donation.

In order to increase computer and equipment donations from private firms and citizens, a charitable donations federal income tax receipts program has been developed. Private citizens and corporations can donate their used computer equipment to this program and get a federal income tax receipt in return. Recycling..........it pays!
