A number of volunteers, both from the Aliant Pioneers organization and from within the community, generously give up their time to assist in the repairs and distribution of our computers and associated equipment. The Aliant Pioneer Volunteers were the initial refurbishers of the Computers for Schools program from 1993 to 1999. To this day, the Aliant Pioneers continue to provide a great deal of volunteer support to help with logistical and operational issues. The Pioneers regularly pick up equipment from donors and deliver it to our workshops for processing. They also help us to deliver the refurbished computers to organizations that could not otherwise make their own shipping arrangements. In some cases, the Pioneers also provide an additional distribution line for our computer donations by identifying suitable recipients in need and distributing our computers to them. This vital support from the Aliant Pioneers has been essential to the success of our program here in Newfoundland and Labrador. Cheers to such a strong volunteer effort!
